Victoria Recruitment are representing a Financial Planning business within the London City who are looking for an Accounts Manager to cover a year of maternity leave for a long-standing and loyal Accounts employee. Although this position is mostly standalone, you'll be accompanied by a very experienced Finance Director 2 days a week who will handle most upper-end finance duties.

They're open for flexible working and understand the importance of a work-life balance, as the current person in this position works full time hours over 4 days.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Download receipts from Lloyds Bank and enter onto the back office system (SSP Adviser and Quickbooks)
  • Send out the monthly new business report
  • Sort and distribute the monthly suspense list
  • Deal with all remuneration queries
  • Manage the purchase ledger
  • Produce the quarterly VAT Return
  • Complete weekly bank reconciliation
  • Run the monthly payroll for the advisers
  • Prepare and post the month end journals
  • Produce the monthly financial reports (P&L’s, Balance Sheet, cash flow and aged debtors)
  • Prepare Quarterly Financial Commentary for the Board
  • Maintain the fixed asset register
  • Maintain the accounts files e.g. accruals and prepayments list
  • Prepare the necessary documents for an audit
  • Prepare the FCA reports as required
  • Filing Confirmation Statements on Companies House
  • Assisting with producing the annual budget

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

Essential

  • AAT qualified or near completion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact directly with colleagues, insurance companies and suppliers in a professional manner
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative
  • Ability to critically evaluate information, probe and challenge the facts
  • A flexible and adaptable attitude towards work
  • Ability to work accurately and in accordance with procedures
  • Experience of Microsoft Excel especially pivot tables and formulas
  • Experience of Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines

Desirable

  • Experience of Quickbooks
  • Previous use of SSP Adviser back office system
  • Previous experience within an IFA firm.
